Several major players and exhibitors from the upcoming West Coast Green conference in San Jose, California join host Andy Mannle to discuss their projects and areas of interest.
Segment 1: Shipping Containers become HOMES!
David Cross, Maritime Engineer, now with SG Blocks; and Dan Rosenthahl, Architect from Lawrence Group Architects, discuss their exciting green project: “The Harbinger House”, making homes from shipping containers! In fact, there’s a functioning exhibit on the floor at this year’s West Coast Green conference!
Segment 2: Thinking way-off-the-grid: How Imagine Mars helps us improve life on earth!
David Delgado from Nasa’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) tells us how his program, “Imagine Mars” is helping us improve our communities here on earth in sustainable ways. This project brings experts and young people together in a highly creative process!
Segment 3: Sarah Susanka, author of The Not So Big House on Spiritual Geometry
“Updating Plato”; Key Note Speaker and architect Sarah Susanka discusses “platonic solids” and how this geometry can be brought into play to improve life on earth.
Segment 4: AB32 and Climate Change in California
Industry, Government, and Academia come together when Dana Papke, Chris Pyke, Cal Broomhead and Alexandra Von Meier join in a discussion of “Climate Change in California”.

Dana Papke from the California Air Resources Board is the Technical-Lead for the Green Building Action Team.
Professor Alexandra Von Meier, teaches Energy Management and Design in the Environmental Studies and Planning Departments at Sonoma State University.
Chris Pyke is Director of Climate Change Services for CCT Energetics, a green-building-and-sustainable-design company.
Cal Broomhead is the Energy and Climate Program Manager for San Francisco’s Department of Environment.
